Huntington Central Park
Huntington Central Park is the largest city-owned and operated park in Orange County. Spanning both sides of Golden West Street between Slater Avenue and Ellis Street, Central Park is comprised of 356 sprawling acres that include Central Park West and Central Park East.
Central Park West features the Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center, Huntington Beach Disc Golf Course, Lake Huntington, Alice's Breakfast in the Park, Dog Park, a covered picnic shelter available for rent, and Shipley Nature Center (open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Saturday, closed the last Friday of every month, www.fsnc.org.) Central Park West includes parking lots with free parking on Golden West Street, Inlet Drive and Central Park Drive.
Central Park East includes Central Library and Cultural Center, Huntington Beach Playhouse, Adventure Playground, Huntington Beach Sports Complex, Park Bench Cafe, meandering trails, an exercise par course, picnic tables and grills, a natural amphitheater and a bandstand. Free and paid public parking is available in lots located on Golden West and Gothard Streets and Slater and Talbert Avenues.
Huntington Central Park is home to many activities and special events, including an annual Civil War Re-enactment held on Labor Day weekend, concerts, Shakespeare in the Park and Easter Egg Hunt.
